This test bench project shows a one tone swept frequency single power test bench for power amplifiers.

This test bench includes:

Schematics:

  • PA_One_Tone_Sweep_Freq - the test bench setup.  Includes notes on where to change settings specific to your design


  • PA_One_Tone_Sweep_Freq_Display - embeds all graphs into one display

Graphs

    • DC Current: DC Current from the DC Voltage source on the output of the transistor in the DUT subcircuit, plotted at at a fixed power versus input frequency.
    • DC Drain Efficiency: DCRF measurement plotted at a fixed power versus input frequency.
    • Gain Power gain plotted at a fixed power versus input frequency.
    • Harmonic Powers: Power in the fundamental, 2nd and 3rd order harmonics at a fixed power versus input frequency.
    • Input and Output Current Waveforms Current waveforms at the input and output of the DUT at a fixed power and frequency where the tuner controls the frequency.
    • Input and Output Voltage Waveforms: Voltage waveforms at the input and output of the DUT at a fixed power and frequency where the tuner controls the frequency.
    • PAE: Power Added Efficiency at a fixed power versus input frequency.
    • Spectrum: Power Spectrum at the input and output of the DUT at a fixed power and frequencywhere the tuner controls the frequency.
    • Total Harmonic Distortion: THD calculated in the output equations, at a fixed power versus input frequency.
