Touchstone Data Files in VSS
The example demonstrates how to incorporate a Touchstone data file into VSS. This is done using the LIN_S block, as Touchstone data files are treated as Microwave Office linear circuits by the AWR Design Environment.
The first step is to add the Touchstone data file to the Data Files folder of the Project tree. In this case "BAND1" has been added.
Once added, the data file can be dragged into a system diagram by dragging it from the Subcircuits/LIN_S category of the Elements tree, just as you would an MWO schematic.
When working with a data file, the sampling frequency band (center frequency - sampling frequency/2 to center frequency + sampling frequency/2) should fall within the frequency band specified in the data file. If it extends beyond the frequency band, the response must be interpolated, which may not produce a satisfactory response.
For further information about LIN_S or any other model please read their corresponding online help. For more information about filters in general please read the online VSS Modeling Guide.
