Design Notes

Uplink WCDMA Receiver Sensitivity Test:

This project implements the RX Reference Sensitivity Level Test according to ETSI TS 125 141 V6.11.0 (2005-09) Technical Specification.  Reference Sensitivity Level Test is defined in Section 7.2 of the document. 

For this test, the TX transmits an uplink WCDMA signal source containing a 12.2 kbps UL reference measurement channel, defined in Annex A.2.  The WCDMA contains the control and traffic channels as defined in Annex A.1.  The BER block calculates the bit error rate, which should meet the following specification.  For each base-station (BS) class, a bit-error-rate (BER) of 0.001 should be achieved for signal levels defined below:

Wide Area BS:          -121 dBm

Medium Range BS: -111 dBm

Local Area BS:         -107 dBm

Results of previous simulations were stored in BER_Results file in the project tree, and are also plotted in the BER graph as the curve named "Reference BER."  These results may be used as a reference.

Test Configuration:

The test may be cofigured by setting appropriate parameters in the Global Definitions window.  These parameters, which are boxed for easy access, are:

CenterFrq_MHz:                  Center Frequency (MHz)

SigLevel_start:                     Start Signal Level (dBm)

SigLevel_span:                    Span of Signal Levels (dB)

SigLevel_step:                     Step of Signal Levels (dB)

MinNumErrsCollect:            Minimum Number of Errors to collect for each signal level

MaxNumBlockRun:             Maximum number of blocks to run for each signal level

Two system diagrams are provided for the TX and RX DUT implementations.  User can implement their own designs inside these system diagrams.
