This application note covers some valuable layout concepts for doing printed circuit board designs using Microwave Office. This application note is the 2nd in a series of application notes and the concepts continue where the 1st application note left off.
This application note shows how to setup a multi-level PCB layout. It covers how to make lines draw on the desired level in the board. It also covers how to draw vias properly since there are many different via types in this type of design. Finally, it demonstrates a new way of exporting NC drill file information for vias. The new technique greatly simplifies exporting drill files when there are multiple via types in a layout.
There is a PDF of the application note and a Microwave Office project that was used to create the application note in the zip files attached to this article.
