Design Notes
Conformal Antenna
In this example an antenna generated by AntSyn was imported as an arbitrary 3D Analyst structure, wrapped around a cylinder and the results compared to the original.

Simulating this project is time-consuming. This example, with the datasets included, is available at: http://kb.awr.com/display/examples/Conformal_Antenna
Setup
The AntSyn Antenna EM structure is the original antenna that was generated by AntSyn. This antenna is a mesh antenna.
You can see the antenna pattern by simulating the structure and making sure the annotation is enabled. The original antenna was then copied as the starting point of the wrapped antenna.
Analyst has the feature to wrap and thicken wrapped sheets. This is done by using AWRDE's 3D Editor. To wrap a sheet place a cylinder so that it is tangential to the sheet that you would like to wrap. Click on the Modify Solids button and select Wrap Sheet. Select the sheet click enter, and then select the cylinder and click enter again. Once you finish wrapping the sheet you can thicken it by going to the modify solids menu, selecting Thicken Sheet, selecting the wrapped sheet, and clicking enter.
AntSyn
AntSyn was used to generate the antenna that is used in this example. AntSyn is a powerful antenna design tool that can automate the antenna design process. Read more about its capabilities here, https://awrcorp.com/support/help.aspx?id=101.
