Design Notes

Mobile WiMAX 802.16e RX Test Bench

This example demonstrates:

WirelessMAN-OFDMA Phy, compliant with IEEE 802.16e.

Specification document: 802.16e-2005.pdf, Section 8.4.

This example can be used to measure BER vs. Output Power.  Other measurements, such as signal IQ, power and spectrum can also be monitored at test points before and after the RX DUT.

User-selected options include:

• Rate_ID: 0 to 6 (defines modulation and RS-CC code rate)

• UD_mode: Downlink PUSC, Downlink FUSC or Uplink PUSC

• NFFT: FFT size (2048, 1024, 512, 128)

• G: Cyclic prefix (1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32)

• Nominal bandwidth (MHz)

• Carrier Frequency (MHz)

• TxOutLvlStart, TxOutLvlSpan, TxOutLvlStep (dBm): Define swept power of transmitted signal

• MinNumErrsCollect, MaxNumBlockRun: Define BER measurement settings
