The procedure for requesting AWR support has changed. Please read all about
the new AWR product support process.
This test bench project shows a one tone swept frequency test bench for power amplifiers at a constant output power. An extra schematic is added to help determine which output powers are possible.
This test bench includes:
Schematics:
- PA_One_Tone_Sweep_Freq_Constant_Power - shows the swept power result at each frequency to see which output powers are possible at each frequency, used to set the CONSTPOUT block.
- PA_One_Tone_Sweep_Freq_Constant_Pout - the test bench setup. Includes notes on where to change settings specific to your design.
- PA_One_Tone_Sweep_Freq_Constant_Pout_Display - embeds all graphs into one display.
Graphs
- DC Current: DC Current from the DC Voltage source on the output of the transistor in the DUT subcircuit, plotted at at a constant output power versus input frequency.
- DC Drain Efficiency: DCRF measurement plotted at a constant output power versus input frequency.
- Gain Power gain plotted at a constant output power versus input frequency.
- Harmonic Powers: Power in the fundamental, 2nd and 3rd order harmonics at a constant output power versus input frequency.
- Input and Output Current Waveforms: Current waveforms at the input and output of the DUT at a constant output power and frequency where the tuner controls the frequency.
- Input and Output Voltage Waveforms: Voltage waveforms at the input and output of the DUT at a constant output power and frequency where the tuner controls the frequency.
- PAE: Power Added Efficiency at a constant output power versus input frequency.
- Spectrum: Power Spectrum at the input and output of the DUT at a constant output power and frequency where the tuner controls the frequency.
- Swept Power: Total Power output of the DUT at a swept power on the x-axis and one trace per frequency.
- Total Harmonic Distortion: THD calculated in the output equations, at a constant output power versus input frequency.
- Total Power: Total power at the output and power and available power at the input at a constant output power versus input frequency.
Output Equations
- PA_One_Tone_Sweep_Freq_Constant_Pout - equations used to calculate the total harmonic distortion.
Project Folders
- PA_One_Tone_Sweep_Freq_Constant_Pout - Folder containing all the schematics, graphs and equations for this project.
