Hold the Ctrl key while moving elements in a schematic or system diagram to break the connectivity. Normally the wires will stay connected to each elements node when moving. If moving a long distance, this could short out nodes, etc. This mode allows the wires to not also move with you. See the documentation from the button below for more details.

If you wanted to move the middle resistor to the up and right, by default the wires would move with the element and short our the right resistor.
Holding down the Ctrl key while moving will break the wire connections after the move is complete.
