This five-part video overviews Visual System Simulator™ (VSS) system design software.

  • Part 1 - introduces the software and discusses the frequency-domain engine used for budget and spur analysis of the RF link, as well as the time-domain simulator. You’ll learn how to build a system diagram and add tone sources, a filter, an amplifier, a local oscillator, and an isolator. You’ll insert probe points and take measurements, and, finally, you’ll simulate.
  • Part 2 - showcases the ability of VSS software to co-simulate with Microwave Office circuit design software using the iFilter™ synthesis wizard.
  • Part 3 - overviews how to simulate using models. You’ll learn about data file dependency and data table formatting.
  • Part 4 - provides an introduction to the VSS frequency-domain simulator, which enables you to do spur analysis and budget analysis. You’ll work with modulated signals and learn how to simulate concurrently in the time and frequency domains.  
  • Part 5 - focuses on the phased-array antenna simulation capabilities in VSS software and presents several examples. The file-based model feature in the phased-array model library for defining RF link characteristics in a text file is showcased.
