Design Notes
8PSK with Amp
This project uses the VSS MPSK block to generate an 8PSK signal. The modulated signal in turn is used to drive a power amplifier (PA) design created in Microwave Office.
The MPSK_SRC block generates an 8PSK, Root Raised Cosine (RRC) pulse shaped signal centered at 198MHz.
The NL_S block imports the AM/AM-AM/PM characteristics of the "Power Amplifier" schematic into VSS.
The “Power Spectrum” graph displays the spectrum before and after the amplifier. The spectral re-growth due to the PA is visible in this graph.
The “Constellation” graph displays the transmitter’s constellation relative to the receiver’s scatter plot.
The receiver automatically obtains its parameters from the transmitter.
You can tune on the collector voltage of the power amplifier as well as the power level and/or the pulse shape of the 8PSK transmitter.
